Editorial note

57 years ago, in April 1968, the first volume of this journal was published - then called Kivung, it was renamed Language and Linguistics in Melanesia in 1981-1982. This year's Volume 43 opens with yet another noteworthy article by the LLM veteran and former Editor, Karl J. Franklin.
